Data sharing policy

TAIJA – Tatwachintanam: International Journal of Ayurveda encourages transparency, reproducibility, and ethical responsibility in research. As part of our commitment to open science and research integrity, we expect authors to make underlying data available wherever appropriate and feasible.

 Purpose

TAIJA supports the advancement of evidence-based Ayurveda by promoting data openness and reproducibility. Authors are encouraged to share research data in a manner that enables others to:

  • Verify the validity of results
  • Reproduce and build upon the research
  • Strengthen the collective scientific understanding within the Ayurvedic and biomedical research community

 Data Availability Requirements

  • Authors must provide a Data Availability Statementin the manuscript, indicating:
    • Whether the data is publicly available
    • Any restrictions due to ethical, legal, or privacy considerations
    • How and where the data can be accessed (e.g., institutional repository, public database, or upon request)
  • Shared datasets should:
    • Support the conclusions of the article
    • Be clearly described and properly cited
    • Allow replication of study findings where applicable

 Ethical Considerations

  • For research involving human subjects, authors must ensure that data sharing complies with:
    • Patient confidentiality
    • Informed consent agreements
    • Institutional and national ethical guidelines
  • Identifiable personal data must be de-identified or anonymized prior to sharing.

 Compliance and Oversight

  • The TAIJA editorial board may request access to raw data during the review process for verification purposes.
  • Manuscripts lacking a clear data availability statement may be returned for revision.
  • Data sharing expectations must be balanced with ethical responsibility, especially in clinical or sensitive contexts.
