Retraction, Editorial Expressions of Concern, and Correction Policy
Process for Handling Corrections
In the event that an error is identified in a published article, the editorial team of TAIJA – Tatwachintanam: International Journal of Ayurveda will evaluate the nature and severity of the error to determine its impact on the article’s scientific integrity and conclusions.
- If the error is minor and does not affect the overall findings, a correction noticewill be issued.
- If the error affects interpretation, results, or conclusions, the authors will be contacted to confirm the mistake and provide corrected content.
- The correction noticewill clearly specify the original error and the revised information and will be linked to the original article.
- Corrections will be indexed and updated in relevant databases to ensure complete transparency.
- Editors will oversee the correction process to ensure the issue is resolved and that the scholarly record remains reliable.
Retraction Policy
TAIJA maintains a zero-tolerance policy toward publication misconduct. Articles may be retracted for the following reasons:
- Proven cases of plagiarism, fabrication, or falsification of data
- Unethical research involving human or animal subjects
- Undisclosed conflicts of interest or duplicate publication
- Serious methodological flaws discovered post-publication
In such cases:
- A formal retraction noticewill be published and linked to the original article
- The article PDF will be watermarked as “Retracted”
- The authors’ affiliated institutions and funding agencies may be notified
- Retractions are processed in accordance with COPE guidelines
Editorial Expressions of Concern
When potential issues arise concerning a published article—such as ethical concerns, undisclosed conflicts, or significant methodological doubts—TAIJA may issue an Editorial Expression of Concern to alert readers while a formal investigation is underway.
Depending on the outcome of the investigation, one of the following actions will be taken:
- Publication of a correctionif issues are resolvable
- Retractionof the article if warranted
- Removal of the concern noticeif the article is cleared of allegations
This process ensures transparency while upholding the scientific and ethical standards of the journal.
